廣結善緣

最基本的前提,它是人與人溝通互動成敗的重要媒介,那就是廣結善緣。也就是能使資源良性交流與多元運用。

不知你是否有相同的經驗,偶爾會和認識的人在街上不期而遇,也有另一種情況,對方和你熟識的是同一人而你們彼此不知,也許是朋友、鄰居、同學、同事或者是客戶。依同理觀察專業領域或工作領域,在網路化的新時代裡多向互動的管道豐富,相對此種體驗更為明顯,除了巧合外,讓人覺得台灣真的很小。

相對彼岸廣大領土及人口,就任何角度與經濟面的評估,台灣的再進化條件就相對的處於劣勢,但就質而言,台灣的優勢不也在此﹖對岸目前正處於開發中國家瘋狂進化成長階段,高比例的外商進駐,高效能的勞動生產,像極了早期台灣經濟起飛的模樣,當進化到一個程度後,外商即面臨同化、淘汰、縮編、撤資及死亡,即便是同文同種的台灣,也必須接受此一國家發展演進的必然結果,屆時我們的現有優勢何在﹖我們所謂的高姿態台幹心態將蕩然無存。

如果有一天,台灣有幸再進化,成為一座精英聚集的超現代化島嶼,我們也許會因為先天腹地優勢,使得商業互動成為一種生活中的反射習慣,它意味著人與人之間的互動將更為頻繁,此時,所謂專業能力、國際宏觀乃至於管理,就變成一種身為精英的基本條件,我們是否能想像,精英齊聚在腹地那麼小的台灣,因為先天環境的優勢造就,其間的互動激盪所爆發出的能量豈是對岸所能比擬,這不也是台灣未來的優勢嗎﹖但此一勝景仍有個最基本的前提,它是人與人溝通互動成敗的重要媒介,那就是廣結善緣。也就是能使資源良性交流與多元運用。

我們常在生活當中不自覺的傷害或得罪他人,原因在於它無法經過客觀的統計及數據化,其耗損之可觀讓我們仍洋洋得意卻毫無知覺,就長期而言,週邊資源條件所存在的效益往往比單一生產要來的可觀,從這個角度思考,個人修養的重檢及再造,似乎成為因應未來時代脈動的前提,其難度也比其他諸多專業條件要來的高出許多。

廣結善緣這四個字是一位設計前輩在一次聚會閒談中對我的經驗教誨,只是,我把它思考的更廣泛,雖聽來八股,它卻是所有身為未來台灣精英的後盾及加分,我們不需要其他人來評鑑或定位,回歸於人的基本修為,擴展到台灣的每一組織乃至於政府,小台灣的再進化才有大機會。

Laying a good basis for future relations

Laying a good basis for future relationship is the basic requirement for good communication and interaction.  It is also helpful to exchange or apply resources smartly.

Have you ever had the experience of bumping into a friend, or someone shares a mutual friend who could be your friend, neighbor, classmate, coworker, or another customer, but you never realized it?  If observing coincidence’s happening in the social world, or even the professional field, you may feel that the world is so small because the computerized era brings people more channels to interact with others.

Compared to the broad territory and population in the Mainland, Taiwan’s developmental condition is at an inferior position when being evaluated in terms of economy; however, the advantage of Taiwan is not quantity, but quality.  The Mainland has advanced to be a developing country and is extensively evolving and expanding.  The foreign trader rate is rising and highly effective labor productivity, which is so similar to that of Taiwan at the initial stages of economic efforts.  As those foreign traders will be assimilated, eliminated, reduced, disinvested, or even disappear after a certain degree of development. Even Taiwan, of the same language and same race, must face and accept the same situation that will inevitably take place in any developed country, and our high profile on business will be all gone. The question is which of our present advantage will remain?

If Taiwan has a chance to re-evolve and attract many elites gathering in this modern island, our unique business interaction would be developed and becomes people’s reflection in daily life due to the innate advantage of Taiwan’s central region.  It means that the interaction between people will be more frequent; thus, the so-called professional talent, international views, and management skills will be the common ability for those elites.  We can imagine the power is rapidly accumulated and exploded through the elites, who smartly utilize the innate advantage of Taiwan.  This is something that the Mainland cannot compete with.  From my point of view, this is exactly Taiwan’s advantage in the future.  However, we still need to understand that laying a good basis for future relationship is the basic requirement to communicate and interact with people successfully; it is also helpful to exchange or allocate resources smartly.
We may offend people unconsciously in daily life.  Because it cannot be objectively analyzed as statistics, we usually don’t sense the harm it brings to us.  In a long-term business, ambient resources and benefit are definitely more considerable than the single ones.  In this thinking pattern, personal cultivation seems to be necessary and significant in the future; it should be re-examined and re-educated.  Although this is more difficult than developing professional skills, it is worth trying.

I was taught, at a party, the idea of laying a good basis for future relationship from a senior in the realm of design.  Although it sounds like a mere platitude, I would think it broadly as a principle, that it could be a prop for the future elites in Taiwan.  We may not care about people’s evaluation or approval, but we need to think about being a well-cultivated person, and then spread this idea around any organizations or even government.  By doing so, I think there is still a brilliant future for Taiwan.
